Ouevo splash you sexy mother f*cker

Got back from jazz camp today. 'Twas superior. I miss it already. Our last concert was this morning which was good. I solo'd on bemsha swing which was okay. I'm copying all the cd's I got at camp to my computer. The week was really fun. I met a lot of cool people a saw alot of old friends from last year. Some of them are even staying another week. Pretty crazy.

I felt like a much better player this week. I knew my tone was better, as well as my technique and by the end of the week I felt I could improvise better. My ensemble director, Jeff Campbell, gave me a lot of pointers on improvising. I'm glad I was in his ensemble. My audition on sunday was meh as usual. Strangely enough I was put in the advanced music theory class. I'm really not very good at it. My teacher was named Vardan and he was frikking genius on piano.

My ensemble was great. For our two concerts we played "Such sweet thunder" by the Duke and "Bemsha Swing" by Monk. They are good song and our arrangements were more complicated than those of the other groups. Instead of just playing the melodies and having solos we wrote harmony lines and had group improvisations. I liked my group alot.

When I wasn't musicing i hung out with some really cool people who shall remain nameless.

Manitou was awesome as well. It was cool seeing all of my PL friends again. Some of the counselors said I should join the State Youth Council for Maine and run for the Executive Committee, which is pretty cool. It would be a good thing to have on a college app. SYC will also enable me to see all of my PL friends more than once a year, becase they come from all over. It's not like jazz camp where at least five people are from my town.

I have to read the sixth harry potter book some more tonight. I am a dork.
